Kiwanians and the community joined together to serve Lakeland’s children for this year’s Stuff the Bus project. Matthew Cantrall’s leadership and a partnership with business, church, and individuals resulted in the largest collection and distribution of school supplies in the “Bus” ten year history. Kiwanians led our community in gathering over $65,000 worth of school supplies. Thanks to the many Kiwanians that donated, sorted, loaded, and distributed the academic tools for success. In times when many are suffering economically, the generosity of our club and community are evident. The club appreciates the participation of Hall Communications and the Ledger in getting the word out. Victory Church continued to be one of our best school supply collection sites. FedEx and Marriott Vacation Resorts provided donations and volunteers. Regal Lakeland joined the campaign this year providing donations and volunteers also. Family Fundamentals of the United Way donated supplies as well. Beef O’Brady’s hosted a STB “Spirit Night”. This list highlights a few. You can see that Kiwanis helps unite the community in changing the lives of children.
