Mid-Valley Hospital 9th Annual Autumn Leaf Run October 3, 2009

We participated in this year's Autumn Leaf Run in the small town of Okanogan which is a short 10 minutes drive south of Omak, Washington (approximately 144 km from Penticton).

The Campbell Mtn. XC 6.5 race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4th. The run is comprised of dirt roads and single track. The start is a steep climb for over 1 km followed by a fairly steep descent on the west side of Campbell Mtn. and then onto single track on the south side which leads onto the dirt road winding it's way to the finish. The cost is $8 ($5 for full BC Athletics members)

Congratulations to all who competed in the Bike Barn 10K! Thanks to your generosity, a portion of each entry will be going towards the 'Big Brothers and Big Sisters' programs. Each Christmas the Penticton Pounders Running Club put on a Jingle Bell Run to aid a needy family in our community. The Club donates money and the participants bring food, gifts,& donations.
This year the club was able to fill the family's needs (a mother with two children) by donating over $500 in various gift items on the families wish list.The club would like to thank Valerie Tuhkala who organizes this event each year. Jingle Bingo pictures |

This years edition of the Penticton Pounders (Peach City Pounders) Haney to Harrison H2H 100K relay team consisted of 5 new team members and the team had its best result in the past 4 years 8:37:19 . 17th out of the 41 teams in the mixed division and would have been 6th if we had been in the 40+ division of which we have all reached that age of maturity. The new members were Jan Rhoddy,Wyn West,Mike Stokker,Karen Smith & Glennie Biagioni. Deb Dunham,Jerry Mitchell & Ellis Andrews previous team members made up the 8 member team.
