"Where there is love there is life."  Gandhi

Hey guys, it's Sunday !!  February 14th, the day your wives and girl friends look forward to after Christmas has come and gone.  Don't wait until Friday to do something about it…get started today.  Here are some little thoughts you can leave for your loved one here and there this week: "A hug is like a boomerang – you get it back right away." Bill Keane.  "A kiss makes the heart young again and wipes out the years."  Rupert Brooke.  "When love is not madness, it is not love." Pedro Calderon.  "Who so loves believes the impossible." Elizabeth Barrett Browning.  "Love conquers all." Virgil.  "Love is being stupid together." Paul Valery. "What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork."  Pearl Bailey.  Don't wait until the 14th to tell your significant other that you love them…make a week of it…and maybe you will be able to say what Eva Gabor said once…

"Love is a game that two can play and both win !"

So go and shoot Cupid's arrow this week and have some fun too !

As has been a special tradition, four of our members attended the Atlanta Metro Kiwanis Club's 29th Founders Day Celebration meeting this past Monday night. Our Carrollton Kiwanis Club sponsored the beginning of the Atlanta Metro Club in 1978. Since that time, the Atlanta Metro Club members have distinguished themselves in various leadership roles within the Georgia Kiwanis District. Among their membership have been several Lt Govenors for the 16th Division, many District Committee Chairs, and the first African American (as well as first female) Governor of the Georgia District, Lillie Robbins.

We appreciate the Atlanta Metro Club's invitation to attend and be recognized as their sponsoring club. Special thanks to Inter Club Chair and Past President Richard Dixon for organizing the trip along with Lt Govenor Tim Martin, Past President Mike Renfrow, and President Randy Miller for their participation.

Never let it be said that Kiwanians are not a strong willed, brave hearted, and spirited family of dedicated members. Even on a cold, wet, and windy afternoon this past Saturday, sixteen (16) Kiwanians and their family members enjoyed our first annual Kiwanis Family Picnic. Many thanks to Michelle Kuhlman, Chair of our Human & Spiritual Values Committee, for coordinating the event. Those attending enjoyed a time of fellowship with our extended Kiwanis families, a grilled meal with great side dishes prepared by our wonderful Kiwanis cooks, plenty of hot chocolate, music provided by Harris Johnson, and even A&W root beer ice cream floats compliments of Neil Weathington.

Who knows, we might even plan another Family Picnic in the Spring or Summer for our less adventurous members!
